Everything you need to know about cacay oil

cacay oil from cacay naturals

Have you heard of cacay oil yet? This exotic beauty oil has been definitely making waves in the media and that’s due to its powerful anti-ageing and healing properties which are difficult to match. But is this oil something that you absolutely need to get your hands on? I investigate…

What is cacay oil?

Cacay oil comes from the fruit of wild harvested Cacay trees in the Colombian Amazon. It’s cold-pressed and totally natural with nothing added to it.

Cacay oil is incredibly rich in nourishing vitamins and essential fatty acids so no wonder it’s getting so popular for its anti-ageing properties. It contains 50% more vitamin E and twice the amount of Linoleic Acid than Argan oil.

Vitamin E is a powerful anti-oxidant and amazing nutrient for your skin. It’s great for neutralising the oxidant effect of free radicals, which are molecules that damage collagen and cause skin dryness, fine lines and wrinkles.

Linoleic Acid is an omega-6 fatty acid which plays an important role in skin health – it is known for its ability to heal, hydrate and plump the skin.

Cacay oil also has three times more Retinol than rosehip oil. Retinol is an antioxidant derivative of vitamin A and it’s great for preventing wrinkles and spots. It increases collagen production and promotes skin renewal.

Cacay oil from Cacay Naturals – Review

I’ve been testing cacay oil from Cacay Naturals who have kindly sent me a free sample to review.

The first time I applied cacay oil onto my skin I was amazed at how quickly it sank in with no greasiness felt afterwards. I quickly learnt this was a ‘dry oil’, a type of oil which is really light and quick to absorb

It absorbs so quickly that you can actually apply make-up on top straight away.

The oil leaves your skin incredibly soft and silky and I really love that feeling afterwards.

The scent is not amazing, it’s kind of nutty and grassy, hard to describe actually. But if you are more interested in the amazing benefits of cacay oil then the scent should not really put you off.

I’ve been using the oil mostly on my face and it really helped with my blemishes for when they appeared. I would normally massage 3-4 drops of oil all over the face but I would put more oil on blemishes and spots. Overnight this works really well and in the morning you can definitely see an improvement in the skin.

Since I’ve been using the cacay oil I noticed that some fine lines on my forehead have softened a bit so I can confirm that its rejuvenating properties definitely work.

In case you wondered, the oil is suitable for all skin types, even the oily and combination types. I have a combination skin and the oil didn’t give me any issues at all, no breakouts!

Also to note, the cacay oil from Cacay Naturals is naturally organic and suitable for vegans as well.

What can you use cacay oil for?

Cacay oil a great multipurpose oil actually. You can use it for your face and decollete to prevent wrinkles or to soften those fine lines, but it can also be used as a cuticle oil. It’s even great for hair as it helps to hydrate your dry lengths and ends. I haven’t used it much on my hair but it’s definitely worth giving it a try.

Because of its healing properties, you can use it for various skin irritations, not only acne.

It’s even supposed to help with stretch marks and mild scars but also with wound healing.

The verdict

All in all, the cacay oil is definitely an impressive oil worth trying. The smell is not great but would you care if you saw your wrinkles decrease in appearance?

The cacay oil from Cacay Naturals is now available to purchase on Amazon for £32.75.
