Aurelia Skincare is a brand that I wanted to try for a long time and finally, last year I decided to test them out and purchase their sample set containing samples from their multi-award-winning 3-Step Probiotic Routine. The products can be purchased separately but it’s recommended to use them all as part of your skincare routine to truly transform your skin. Here are the sample products I tested:

  • Miracle Cleanser – This gentle cream cleanser will help you remove daily grime and all traces of makeup, leaving your skin nourished, soft and well-cleansed. Your skin won’t feel dry afterwards. Suitable for all skin types. This is my favourite cleanser ever and now I cannot be without it! (see my full review below)
  • Revitalize & Glow Serum – Apply this serum before applying a moisturiser to give your skin a dose of probiotics that will help your skin transform from dull and fatigued to dewy and glowy. (full review below)
  • Cell Revitalise Day Moisturiser – This light moisturiser will hydrate your skin, soothe it and nourish it with probiotic ingredients and plant and flower botanicals. (full review below)
  • Cell Revitalise Night Moisturiser – Slightly richer than the day moisturiser, this night moisturiser will encourage your skin’s repair overnight to reveal a dewy, youthful glow in the morning. (full review below)

Apart from the samples of the above products, the set also contained a cute muslin cloth which was intended to be used in conjunction with Miracle Cleanser.

About Aurelia Skincare

Before reviewing each of the products that I’ve tried individually, let me tell you more about Aurelia Skincare.

The brand launched in January 2013 and as soon as it launched it created lots of interest from the media and bloggers. It’s because the brand itself isn’t just your average luxury natural brand, it’s much more than that. They stand out as they focus on science, lab testing and they also have proven results.

Ingredients

The key ingredients they use (as you may have figured out) are probiotics but also peptides which work with probiotics to help stimulate cells that produce collagen, hyaluronic acid and fibronectin (responsible for skin support). These peptides come from milk so if you avoid dairy products, Aurelia Skincare won’t be a good match for you (it’s not vegan).

How our skin ages

Collagen is a protein naturally found in the body and helps the skin to maintain its elasticity, keeping it firm and smooth. With age, our bodies produce less collagen which results in wrinkles and sagging skin. This process starts as early as in our 20s and accelerates in our 30s.

Hyaluronic acid is also naturally found in the body and is responsible for boosting collagen production. With age, less hyaluronic acid is produced by our bodies which is another reason why wrinkles appear.

How Aurelia Skincare can help

Aurelia Skincare’s focus is all about helping to repair and restore your skin while at the same time protecting it and balancing it.

Aurelia’s products are designed to repair existing skin damage and slow down the ageing process. You won’t find any questionable ingredients in Aurelia’s products such as sulphates, parabens and minerals oils. The brand uses only ethical, sustainably sourced ingredients.

My founding mission was to introduce a new concept in skincare, which remains unique to this day. Highly effective, transformational probiotic skincare, made in Britain, with the purest of BioOrganic ingredients sourced sustainably from around the world. – Claire Vero, the founder

Aurelia Skincare has come a long way and today you will find it stocked in Liberty of London, Net-a-porter in the US, Content Beauty & Wellbeing and a range of fantastic boutiques across the world.

Aurelia Probiotic Miracle Cleanser Review

Packed with nourishing organic botanicals such as baobab, antioxidant-rich hibiscus, Mongongo oil and firming Kigelia Africana, Miracle Cleanser works gently to remove impurities without drying the skin out.

Aurelia Skincare Miracle Cleanser

Aurelia’s probiotic ingredients help to restore and balance the skin and at the same time encourage the repair process and reduce the damage caused by pollution and stress.

The scent is lovely and natural coming from an uplifting blend of Chamomile, Eucalyptus, Rosemary and Bergamot. It’s not too strong and very pleasant.

To use, you simply massage Miracle Cleanser onto dry skin with your fingertips and your daily impurities and makeup start to melt away. It can also be used around your eyes, it’s so gentle! In fact, this is quite likely to replace your makeup remover once you try it.

After massaging, use a muslin cloth dampened with warm water to remove the product from your face. You will be left with soft, nourished skin with no residue or a film that some face cleansers leave behind.

I found that applying a little bit of water on my face when I have the cleanser on helps to distribute it more easily. In this way, you also don’t need to use as much of a product.

Using a muslin cloth is a must as this works extremely well to remove all the grime off your face while at the same time gently exfoliating your skin.

I tried rinsing my face with water afterwards but it wasn’t the same so I definitely recommend using a muslin cloth!

I totally love how my face feels after cleansing. It’s soft and feels nourished but without any oily residue or a film. Amazing results! It’s also very effective at removing makeup and I promise, you won’t be disappointed if you give it a try.

I am normally not a fan of cream cleansers but this one is different as it’s more ‘milky’ than creamy which I love and prefer. The texture is light and not oily at all. Very pleasant to use although I would prefer to use it without a muslin cloth.

The sample pot was very small and I think I got about four cleanses out of it, but it was enough to make me realise how good this cleanser was. After that, I decided to purchase a full-size product and I also bought myself a Naturisimo discovery box containing this cleanser. For me, Miracle Cleanser is now a must-have beauty product!

Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Cell Revitalise Day Moisturiser Review

Cell Revitalise Day Moisturiser is a beautiful light moisturiser that sinks in quickly, leaving your skin smooth and creating a lovely base for the makeup. It’s nourishing without feeling oily and the scent is lovely, floral, coming from essential oils of jasmine, plumeria and tuberose.

Aurelia Skincare Cell Revitalise Day Moisturiser

I found this moisturiser great on my breakout-prone skin but it’s also suitable for all other skin types, including dry and sensitive skin. Although, if your skin is very dry you may need to use this moisturiser together with a nourishing face oil for better results.

Cell Revitalise Day Moisturiser is packed with anti-ageing ingredients, specifically omega-3 oils, BioOrganic botanicals providing a good dose of antioxidants and abundant levels of vitamin E. All these ingredients work together to smooth out your skin and make it soft and radiant.

Let’s also not forget about beneficial probiotics which protect and balance the skin from within.

The sample pot lasted me for about 2 weeks when used every day in the morning and I was really happy with the condition of my skin during this time.

I believe that this moisturiser kept my breakouts at bay and my skin was adequately moisturised during this time without any dryness despite the weather becoming really cold.

As soon as I stopped using it every day (in combination with the Night moisturiser), some nasty spots appeared on my face and I believe this is more than just a coincidence. I really think this moisturiser kept my skin healthier when regularly used.

Aurelia Probiotic Cell Revitalise Night Moisturiser Review

Cell Revitalise Night Moisturiser is thicker and feels slightly richer than Aurelia’s Day Moisturiser. The formula works overnight to optimise the skin’s natural regeneration system and when you wake up in the morning your skin will feel really soft and lovely. This is partially due to shea butter and avocado oil but also due to other ingredients such as baobab, rosehip and antioxidant-rich hibiscus.

Aurelia Skincare Cell Revitalise Night Moisturiser

The formula is very similar to the one of Day Moisturiser, containing the same beneficial probiotics and botanicals but it has some more nourishing ingredients to offer more hydration to the skin overnight.

The scent is also lovely but different. An essential oil blend of Neroli, Lavender, Rose and Mandarin is perfect for nighttime since it creates a relaxing atmosphere, helping you to wind down at the end of the day.

Cell Revitalise Night Moisturiser is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. It doesn’t clog the pores although it’s a bit richer and it certainly didn’t give me any breakouts. If your skin is oily you may want to use only a little bit which means it should last you for quite some time. In any case, you don’t need to apply much for your whole face; a little goes a long way.

I think dry and more mature skin will love this moisturiser and when combined with facial oil you should expect some amazing results.

Aurelia Moisturisers comparison

Revitalise & Glow Serum Review

Aurelia’s Revitalise & Glow Serum is incredibly lightweight and easy to apply. It’s non-greasy at all and looks and feels quite milky.

Its revolutionary probiotic ingredients help to calm and balance the skin, transforming it to reveal a glowy and dewy complexion.

Aurelia Skincare Revitalise and Glow Serum

To work its magic, apply Revitalise & Glow Serum to the skin before the moisturiser.  You only need a little bit, not too much. It will absorb quite quickly, leaving skin soft and silky.

The little sample that I tried, unfortunately, didn’t last me very long but it was enough to leave a good impression on me.

The serum contains the same botanicals which are found in Aurelia’s moisturisers (baobab, hibiscus, mongongo oil, kigelia africana) but it’s more concentrated to provide more skin nourishment.

It’s particularly suitable for dull skin and skin that needs revitalising and rejuvenating but all skin types will benefit from using it.
