Have you ever thought of having a green smoothie for your lunch? Something that will be really healthy and good for you, something that could even help with weight loss? The idea of having a smoothie for lunch is not new to me, in fact, lunch smoothies have been on my weekly meal plans for months now. I kind of stopped having green smoothies when my old blender started to leak but then I have gifted a 2-in-1 food processor (with a blender jug) so my smoothie obsession returned.
Making a green smoothie is so easy and quick so no wonder I started having green smoothies for lunch. It just really saves time and you don’t have to think about it too much. You just put all the ingredients in the blender and in one minute you will have a delicious, smooth and healthy smoothie. This is much better than having crisps or anything else which is not all that good for you. If you want to take it with you to work just get yourself a smoothie bottle or even better buy yourself a blender which comes with cups that you can take with you anywhere you go.
The lunchtime smoothie I’ve been making is not anything like what you buy in a supermarket. It’s much much better, healthier. In my smoothie you will find a variety of nutrients, protein as well, so you won’t feel hungry an hour later.
I use Lean Greens powder in my smoothies (you can get 10% off here if you use my discount code BHN10), but you can use any other supergreens powder you have although I recommend you buy the one which contains digestive enzymes as it will be just a little bit healthier.
The green smoothie I make keeps my tummy full and happy for up to 3 hours and if this doesn’t work for you in the same way you can always add some more protein to your smoothie (in a form of a powder) or just add in high-fibre options such as wheat bran, flaxseeds and chia seeds.

Nutritious green smoothie for lunch
- 300 ml plant-based milk (I normally use almond milk but you could also use water if you don't have any)
- 1 banana
- 1 tsp raw cacao powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1.5 tbsp supergreens powder (such as Lean Greens)
- 2 tbsp desiccated coconut
- 1 tbsp flaxseeds
- 2 tbsp oat bran or porridge oats
- Peel the banana and slice it into the blender.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth.
- Enjoy your smoothie in a big glass and use a straw if you like!
