Magnesium-rich breakfast: Cacao banana porridge with nuts and seeds
Are you one of those women who crave chocolate before their period is due? You are sure not alone! These cravings are common and often indicate that your body is deficient in magnesium. It happens to me as well. I can get really bad cravings for chocolate and when I do I have to have it. […]
Banana & Blueberry Chia Pudding
Since I started cycling to work my eating habits have changed slightly. In the morning, before cycling, I have a small portion of muesli, enough to keep me going for almost 3 hours. Later in the morning, I have my second breakfast and that would normally be banana and blueberry chia pudding which I prepared the night […]
High-protein, low-carb breakfast in a jar
I really don’t like eating anything savoury for breakfast (eggs, for example, or even smoked salmon) so I came up with this high-protein, low-carb breakfast in a jar which is naturally sweetened with some blueberries and yacon syrup (and contains no eggs). Almond and coconut gluten-free pancakes
Not long till Pancake Day! Are you looking forward to it? Will you be making any pancakes? Last year I made delicious almond and baobab pancakes and this year I came up with an even better recipe – gluten-free, dairy-free, high protein almond and coconut pancakes. It was a challenge actually – Holland & Barrett invited […]

The inspiration for this recipe came from the book Superfood Kitchen, by Julie Morris. There was a recipe in the book […]

Fruit compote with quark and almond butter
Winter is a perfect time for a ‘kompot’ as we call it in Slovenia. I remember the days when I was a child and my mum used to make a compote out of fruits which needed to be used. At that time this was the easiest way to use up fruits which were going bad. […]
